A Tour of the Disney Dream | Disney Cruise Line

Combine the classic style of ocean liners from the golden age of ocean crossings with world class Disney entertainment and guest experience and you get the Disney Dream!

Disney Dream at Port Canaveral

The Disney Dream and her sister ship, the Disney Fantasy both have 1,250 staterooms, making them significantly larger (40%) than Disney Cruise Line's classic ships, the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder (875 staterooms).

Style

The style of the Disney Dream is Art Deco, and you will see this in the many decorative details echoing this style of the 1930s, melded with the Disney touch everywhere. It is beautiful and grand, from the chandelier in the atrium down to the colors of the exterior. Want to learn more about the design of the ship? Be sure to take the Art of the Theme Show tour while onboard.

Dining

There are three main dining rooms on the Disney Dream: Animator's Palate (which is on all four Disney ships), Enchanted Garden, and Royal Palace. The Disney Dream does rotational dining, meaning you will rotate between the main dining rooms until you've done all three, then repeat, and your serving team will follow you to each restaurant. There is a buffet restaurant, Cabanas, with an identical buffet on the port and starboard side, and is located on the same deck as the pool. The pool deck also offers quick service options at Flo's Cafe and Eye Scream, and this is where you will find the drink refill stations. Soft drinks, coffee, tea, and milk are included as part of your cruise fare.

There are two specialty adults-only restaurants, Palo and Remy.

Staterooms

The Disney Dream offers Inside, Oceanview, and Verandah staterooms, as well as Concierge level Verandah staterooms and two grand suites. The Inside staterooms have the special feature of a Magical Porthole, that gives real-time views of the outside as well as special visits by Disney characters. Most Disney Dream staterooms have the split bathroom layout, with a toilet and sink in one area and a sink and bathtub/shower in the other, allowing more spaces to get ready.

Adults Only Areas

Relax, catch some rays, read a book, or gaze at that line where the sky meets the sea at the Satellite Falls sun deck and cool off or dip your toes in its wading pool with rain curtain cascades. Grab a crafted cocktail or specialty coffee drink at the Cove Cafe, and grab a free treat while browsing the photographs of Walt Disney and his travels. Quiet Cove pool is nearby where you can enjoy a kid-free atmosphere.

Senses Spa is a great place to unwind and be pampered. A great way to do this is by purchasing a Rainforest Room pass, which gives you access to the spa's Rainforest Room for the duration of your cruise. Drop the kids off at the Oceaneer's Club and hang out in the Rainforest Room for a while! The spa has a full service salon, doing hair, manis, pedis, as well as a gym with personal trainers. Pro tip- visit the spa during embarkation day to will free services during their open house.

Adults-only nightlife can be found in The District, which is home to Pink, a champagne bar, 687 Pub, Skyline Bar, and Evolution Club.

Youth Clubs & Nursery

The Oceaneer's Club is the main kids club for children 3-12 (must be potty trained). There are magical visits from Disney characters and an interactive play floor. Four themed areas make up the Club- Andy's Room, Star Wars Millennial Falcon, Pixie Hollow, and the Disney Infinity Game Room. The Oceaneer's Lab offers all kinds of fun, interactive activities. Both of these fit into the storyline of the Society of Explorers and Adventurers (S.E.A.), and you will see a missive from Mary Oceaneer and find articles of interest from the other members of S.E.A.

Guests 11-14 have a club all their own, located inside the funnel on deck 13! This is Edge, and it covered in high-tech amenities and fun programming that tweens love.

Teens have a cool club, too, and this is Vibe. Vibe has a secret entrance and feels like a happening night spot. It has a private sun deck on the bow of the ship with lounges and deck games. There is also the Chill Spa, a place to get a mani- pedi, facial, or massage, just for teens!

On the other end of the spectrum, there is the "it's a small world" Nursery for children 6 months-3 years old. At $9/hour, this is a great value if you need a night at Palo or Remy, want to take in a ship tour, or attend a mixology class! We have used the Small World nursery a few times and the counselors have been superb, with great communication. They will even try to put your child to bed in their cribs if it is bedtime.

Entertainment & Recreation

The Disney Dream is has many options for having an amazing time! The Walt Disney Theater is where the main broadway-style shows are presented every evening. Currently, the Dream is exclusively showing a stage production of Beauty and the Beast, as well as other shows such as Disney's Believe and The Golden Mickeys. You can watch first-run movies at the Buena Vista Theater. Get ready for Pirate Night and fireworks at sea, with deck parties and swashbuckling fun! Character greetings are everywhere, make sure you look at your Navigator planner or Disney Cruise Line app for all of the times for character greetings and entertainment.

Play at the pool and Nemo's Reef, as toddler splash zone, and take your turn on the Aqua Duck water coaster. Grab a cold drink and take in a Disney movie on Funnel Vision, the giant screen above the pool deck. There is Goofy's Sports Deck with Goofy mini golf and basketball courts.

Shopping

Shops are open when the ship is at sea. Shops include White Caps, Mickey's Mainsail, Sea Treasures, and the Vista Gallery.

Magical Extras

Get your child made up like a princess, prince, or a pirate at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. Grab some over the top sweet treats at Vanellope's Sweets and Treats, an ice cream and candy shop themed after Sugar Rush from Wreck It Ralph

Itineraries

The Disney Dream is the ship you will sail when doing a 3-, 4-, or 5- night Bahamian cruise from Port Canaveral. The Dream only does these sailings, all year long. If you sail during the holidays you will have the chance to experience these sailings as a Halloween on the High Seas cruise or Very Merrytime cruise. A three-night Bahamian cruise goes from Port Canaveral, to Nassau, to Castaway Cay, and back to Port Canaveral. Four and five night Bahamian cruises leave from Port Canaveral visiting Nassau, Castaway Cay (some stop here twice- "double dip"), and a day at sea. The coveted "double dip" at Castaway Cay cruises are at the top of many DCL enthusiasts list, because Castaway Cay is the idyllic Caribbean island, the highlight of most Caribbean cruises.
